Lake Norman Home Builders Launch "The Lake" Magazine
The Lake Norman Home Builders Association launched a new quarterly magazine "The Lake" this spring which, according to Larry Airey, Executive Officer of the Lake Norman Builders Association, "flew off the shelves"! To substantiate that Lake Norman home builders are not just interested but taking action about "Green" building, their second issue of The Lake, Summer 2008, features the "Green Building Guide". On February 14th of this year the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) released their "Model Green Homebuilding Guidelines" which are discussed in this feature article with great examples and insights from local builders. http://www.bestrealestatelakenorman.com/003E83 Posted on July 13, 2008 09:49:34 by Diane Aurit

Charlotte's Southern Spring Home & Garden Show: Shades of Green February 27 - March 2
The 48th annual Southern Spring Home and Garden Show's theme "Shades of Green" couldn't have been timed better for our drought-stricken Mooresville Lake Norman area. I was thrilled to read that every section of the Home and Garden show is focused on going green! http://www.bestrealestatelakenorman.com/0020FC Posted on February 27, 2008 16:05:52 by Diane Aurit

How to get rid of unwanted catalogues and help the environment!
Apparently, one of the benefits of shopping online is that you begin to receive myriad unwanted magazines and catalogues. It has gotten so bad for us that I have been thinking we were going to have to get a larger mailbox.
There is help! I just found out about two companies: Catalog Choice and Green Dimes that provide services that allow you to "Decline paper catalogues you no longer wish to receive; reduce the amount of unsolicited mail in your mailbox while helping to preserve the environment." http://www.bestrealestatelakenorman.com/001704 Posted on December 19, 2007 09:26:33 by Diane Aurit

Blog Action Day: How Going Green Saves Lake Norman
For those of you who dont know, today is Blog Action Day, a day when bloggers throughout the world are writing for the purpose of getting "people thinking, discussing, questioning and talking about the environment..." I am just one of over 12,000 bloggers participating so this should be quite a day on the Internet! I dont know about you, but sometimes all of the talk about the environment and "going green" seems like something too big for us as individuals to even begin to make a difference. I have been building a file of environment related articles and during this process realized how every much I still have to learn. But I also understand that even one small change we make in our daily lives can and will make a difference. http://www.bestrealestatelakenorman.com/001216 Posted on October 15, 2007 09:00:53 by Diane Aurit
