Davidson NC; Lake Norman's Historic College Town

Downtown Davidon Main Street

Tucked in between Cornelius to the south and Mooresville to the north along the shores of Lake Norman is the small town of Davidson. Home to Davidson College, of the nation's top liberal arts colleges, Davidson is truly the epitome of a small, historic college town.  Unlike the other towns on Lake Norman, Davidson has sustained moderate growth in part because of careful town planning and by incorporating strict preservation rules.   Davidson Lake Norman Historic Sign

Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays.  When I was little we had a pumpkin carving contest at school and I remember proudly placing my crudely carved pumpkin on the tables that lined the halls of my elementary school.  There was one house in my neighborhood that went all out and made an amazingly scary haunted experience for the kids.  I think every neighborhood has one of those exceptional families.   Here in Cornelius it is the home of Trish and Dick Mahoney.
